Today I would like to share with you, Something Corporate. I’ve been listening to these guys a lot lately. Just a little pop punk band. The song is called I Kissed A Drunk Girl. It’s recorded live, but it’s fucking epic. I only really like listening to live music if I’m actually at the concert. But I adore this video I found on YouTube. Check it out below.
I’m a shameless YouTube addict. Over the past few months I have discovered some great new channels that really have caught my attention and am happy to have subscribe to these channels. Although you might not find this blog post exciting, I just wanted to share my two cents about this matter. I also apologise if I offend anyone, this is just my opinion.
Now we all know the basic YouTube “Celebrities”. You know, the ones that whore themselves all over YouTube. Such as iJustine, Olga Kay, Shane Dawson. Now don’t me wrong, I don’t think all You Tube Stars are like this. I quite enjoy Jacks Films, Pewdie Pie and My Chonny. But there are a certain handful of You Tubers out there who post videos for money and don’t give a rats ass about their fans. A good example is The Archfiend exposing Shane Dawson.
On YouTube you can find quite a lot of vloggers like this. I really respect them. They don’t always talk about other YouTubers, but these guys are highly intelligent and expose their opinions very well on YouTube. These days we have the internet to find anything we’re looking for. It’s easier to connect with others from your computer or your phone than walking outside and buying a newspaper.
I’ve been a blogger and web designer for many years now. I receive emails daily with people asking me to put advertisements on my website, to do sponsored blog posts, pretty much to whore myself out to make money for something I do for pure enjoyment. I have always been ad-free and I intend to be forever. I’m happy enough to have a website that I have daily visitors who come and read my content and interact me. That completes my website. Money has never been a factor for blogging. It never should be. Although I do free lance design, I work very hard for money well earnt. I don’t want to whore my name out, or use my fans for their money. I’ve always been good with blogging with others, I always return comments and e-mails. Now and again I will come across a website and visit their blog and it’s just whored out with advertisements and sponsored blog posts. These are the blogs I refuse to post on. I just want to interact with others, not gain fame or popularity.
Now we have people on Youtube who just whore out the system. But so many viewers are too blind to see. They’ll have products in their videos, discreetly for advertising. They’ll ask you a question and to leave your response in the comment box (Pffft they don’t read the 22173642856473227 comments). Asking you to rate the video. Buy a fucking t-shirt. Or you could be iJustine and dance in an Apple Store because you’re an attention whore. It’s hard to see why these people are so big on YouTube when they really have fuck all in their videos. They don’t care about the content, all they care about the hits and likes.
Now they’re great people out there sharing their opinions. Exposing these other money hungry YouTubers to us all. They don’t ask for your money or your votes. They just ask for a moment of your time to hear them out. Unfortunately for one of these YouTubers, CammehYaBams. I was sad to logon and find out that he was banned from the website. Why, because no one liked that he had an opinion. I really enjoyed his videos and he always had strong points and his videos were always thought out properly. He wasn’t a douchebag, he was an intelligent young man who posted facts on YouTube.
What a stupid world we live in where you can’t state your opinion on the internet. The amount of shit that is posted on YouTube and not flagged, and then this poor chap was banned for speaking his mind. You can state your opinion about any regular celebrity on YouTube, but when you do it about another YouTuber, you get cut off. Christ, people steal clips from others on YouTube itself. I find it highly offensive. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don’t like the content of video, for fucks sake, watch something else. No one is forcing you to watch a video on YouTube. People can talk about sex, violence and even curse like a mother fucker on YouTube (we all know Jenna Marbles abuses that right), but that’s all acceptable. Stating your opinion about a money hungry vlogger isn’t worth being deleted over.
Just watch who you watch on YouTube these days. Don’t get sucked in too hard. They’re truly a lot of bloggers out there who only care about money. But they’re plenty who do it all for your fans, these are the people you need to support. I truly have lost a lot of respect for Youtube. It’s sad to lose one of my few favourite vloggers. I hope he does come back, but if I was him. I sure as hell wouldn’t. For being told to be silent, it’s wrong on so many levels
Oh my! I’m lying in bed, struggling to keep my eyes open. I only got home about an hour ago. I’m all ready for bed as I have work in about, ooooh 8 hours. So I need my beauty sleep. I was planning on returning all comments today, but once again I’m exhausted from work. Also as the weather is getting colder, my blood has been acting up. My entire left foot is covered in bruises and cuts. Just need to take it easy this week so I can get my health back to normal.
Anyways it’s music Monday. As I was heading to work this morning on the bus, I was listening to a lot of Ben Folds. I was running very late due to traffic. Fuckers! Although my city can shit me to tears sometimes, Ben Folds is actually a major fan of my city, Adelaide. He actually lived here for a couple of years and recorded a couple of albums. Including Rockin’ The Suburbs. He even wrote a nice little catchy song about Adelaide. I thought I would share it with you all.
I found a little film clip on Youtube of some nice photographs of my hometown with the song to match
I know a lot of you guys overseas have no doubt not heard of my city. It’s one of the smallest capital cities in Australia. We’re famous for our Fetivals, Wine, ART and of course serial killers. The Snowtown Murders are famous around the world. This film was released in Australia last year, this movie gave me goosebumps.
Today I’m sharing with you my favourite band. The Living End – Monday.
I have been a Living End fan for many years now. Crazy little fan that I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen them live, and also met and hung out with them. I’ve always got along really well with the lead man, Chris Cheney. He even calls me his little sister. They’re just an amazing Australian rock band. And are freaking awesome to their fan base, as well as their management. They light the stage up, best live band in my eyes.
Monday is off their self titled album, The Living End.
I have been super busy this week, but I will have a new blog post up tomorrow. I’ve also replied to all e-mails. Thanks for all the feedback and love. You’re making me all warm and fuzzy to be back online.
Work has been full on. Zac Efron visited my shopping centre last Thursday, and had to deal with the crazy fandom. Screaming girls, ugh!
It’s Monday. So that means a new song for the week. For week 2 I have chosen Kate Miller Heidke – Last Day On Earth. Kate is an Australian singer. She’s actually a trained classical singer. She’s truly talented, and her album ‘Curiouser’ is always on high rotation on my iTunes. I’ve decided to share this song with you because this song really touches my heart.
It’s one of those songs I like to listen to when I’m sad and lonely. In thinking mode about people I have loved in my life, but are not in it anymore. I secretly want them to come back though. I look back and this song reminds me of someone who was very close to me. Although it does break my heart sometimes when I listen to this song. But can mend it at the same time. I adore this line:-
“In my head I replay our conversations
Over and over til they feel like hallucinations
You know me? I love to lose my mind
And every time anybody speaks your name
I still feel the same
I ache, I ache, I ache inside”
I have been working on my website for a good 5 hours now. New theme should be up and running by tomorrow night. I had a big glitch, I was ready to smash my computer. But I overcame it.
